Recently named as a “LinkedIn Top Voice in Social Impact”, Herk is a strategist, consultant, and ACLP-certified adult educator. By helping companies and organisations in the areas of strategy development, sustainability and climate reporting, social sustainability (the “S” in ESG), and other areas of leadership and management development, Herk supports his clients to develop new areas of growth, and build kinder and better workplace cultures. His previous speaking and consulting engagements include Maybank, KPMG, A*STAR, and Ambulance Wish Singapore, and he is an associate adult educator with Korn Ferry, Social Service Institute (a division of the National Council of Social Service), Workplace Asia, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and other training and education partners.
Prior to starting his company, Herk spent more than 10 years across different senior leadership roles in the social and sustainability sectors. As Assistant Chief Executive of SG Enable, the focal agency for disability in Singapore, he spearheaded Singapore’s disability-inclusive employment efforts, and led the development of the Enabling Village – an inclusive community space which has won many awards for its social impact. As Director of Strategic Planning Office in the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), he led the development of the 4ST – a 5-year strategy roadmap for Singapore’s social service sector. As Division Director of Strategic Management in the Singapore International Foundation, he established multiple collaborations with different NGOs across ASEAN, China, and India, to build up capabilities and develop networks between regional partners.
Herk received the Public Service Commission Overseas Merit Scholarship in 1997, and graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Engineering in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. He is a GRI Certified Sustainability Professional and a Certified WorkPlace Big Five Practitioner. He is also a member of the Adult Education Network of Singapore.
