Royce has been a journalist with Star Media Group for the past nine years, holding a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Applied Accounting from the Oxford Brookes University. Throughout his career in The Star, Royce’s vast experience began in the News Desk covering crime, courts, political and current affairs before moving on to StarBiz, the Business Desk of the group. At StarBiz, Royce covers the Malaysian economy, financial markets and corporates with a forte in banking, tech and transportation.
Royce has won several journalism awards including being nominated twice as one of the top five young journalists in the annual Malaysian Press Institute Journalism Awards in 2016 and 2018. He is also in the final stage of completing the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) qualification.
