Professor Deborah Hall is the Head of Psychology Department (Malaysia). Deborah is an experimental psychologist with a PhD from the University of Birmingham UK. With a career spanning more than 25 years in UK academia, she recently joined Heriot-Watt University Malaysia as Professor of Positive Psychology in February 2021. Deborah’s primary aim is to consolidate and strengthen the holistic education programmes offered to students and staff. Within this positive educational portfolio she is delivering teaching input to a number of campus-wide programmes, including the signature EmPOWER programme, conducting research to evaluate student benefits, and is available for consultancy and corporate training. Her personal impact statement is “I am a resilient leader. My purpose is to enable others so they can realise their full potential. I will use my skills and knowledge to expand the EmPOWER programme so that it becomes part of Heriot-Watt’s DNA.”
