Executive Director, Manufacturing Development (Resource), MIDA
Ms Umarani Muniandy was appointed as the Executive Director of Manufacturing Development (Resource) at the Malaysian Investment Development Authority or better known as (MIDA*) on 10 January, 2022. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Umarani was the Director of MIDA Singapore, a position she held since 2019.
At MIDA, Ms Umarani oversees the development of the Chemical and Advanced Materials Division, Life Sciences and Medical Technology Division, Food Technology and Resource Based Industries Division and the Circular Bio Economy Unit. She has helmed various roles in MIDA over the last 32 years, promoting and facilitating foreign and domestic direct investments into the country.
Her experience and knowledge have enabled her in spearheading industrial development strategies, marketing campaigns while assisting businesses to leverage on the various incentives available for their project implementations.
MIDA is the country’s principal investment promotion agency responsible for the development, promotion and coordination of the manufacturing and services sectors in Malaysia.
