
Elysya holds a degree in Psychological Science and Business and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Counselling at Monash University. She is part of the leadership team at Nyawa, Malaysia’s leading youth-led mental health organisation.
At Nyawa, she has led a range of community-based mental health initiatives aimed at providing free, accessible support to underserved communities. These include Bantu, a free end-to-end web-based support service, and Sepi, an art therapy studio designed for youth.
Her interests lie at the intersection of mental health and digital life, particularly in understanding how constant connectivity, social media, and societal expectations shape self-esteem and identity. She adopts a practical and empathetic approach, equipping individuals with tools to manage anxiety, establish healthy digital boundaries, and seek support when needed.
She is committed to making mental health support more accessible and relatable, especially for young people navigating today’s fast-paced, digitally connected world.
